Imagine If... | Look II

The second outfit of the "Imagine If..." collection consists out of a flared trousers with bucklee, a trasnparent glitter blouse and the elvis blouson. The glitter print at the back of the jacket is fixed on tulle just like the embroidery out of sequins and threads with lurex.
Read the concept and inspiration of the collection in the previous blog.

Imagine If... | Look I

It's official!  BA degree
"Imagine If..." is the title of my collection and here you can read the concept
and idea behind the design.
Furthermore I present the first outfit, consisting of flared trousers and a blouse with trimmings, embroidery and lots of glitter .

The Womenswear FW 17/18 Collection „Imagine If…” is dealing with the relationship between Elvis and Priscilla Presley. It analyses the origin of their feelings for each other and the developing solidarity between them. Having the roots already in childhood where Priscilla is imagining that she will marry Elvis Presley, the wedding grows an aim to achieve in her life. It’s not all about a “fairy tale relationship”: Priscilla is abandoned in Graceland while Elvis is following his career in the world of Hollywood. A contrast between the life of a star and his good wife at home.
The design itself is oriented towards Elvis stage dresses embodying a world of freedom and joy, the world Priscilla is dreaming about. Instead Priscilla is trapped with her childish fantasies for Elvis. Pretending to be the good wife for him: humble, reserved and virgin.

TOYS - Outfit 1

My collection of the 5th semester is all about TOYs, seperated into two sections:
sportswear and ready-to-wear for the S/S17 season.
This sweater and the shorts are the first outfit of the sportswear part.

The patches are inspired by old tin toys, converted into motifs out of sequins and pearls.

Fashionweek Berlin, 2016

Now, in January & February I'm in Berlin, doing my second internship in this semester.
The Fashionweek in January was so exciting, not only helping backstage (I will report about it another time) but also meeting wonderful people in the streets & the whole atmosphere in the city.
So I happened to meet Maximilian Seitz (http://www.maximilianseitz.de/), a famous German blogger.
He was so incredibly nice, asking where I got my pullover: A babyblue, oversized, fake-fur sweater - my design.
I found it so flattering! It was the first time someone demands for my design!

So I sew him his own pullover & now he featured me on instagram! So proud! Thank you!

Another super nice person was Tatjana, an interesting fashion blogger from Berlin. She takes amazing style photos and does cool videos telling tricks for fashion & beauty at sectionofstyle.com
So she did a street style report of MBFW Berlin and I was mentioned, wearing my favorite bag from Skinnydip London.

I've never talked about I don't only like creating fashion but also dressing up and experimenting with different shapes & colors on my own body.
It is so inspiring for me, because I couldn't create something I wouldn't wear myself.
It's like I design what I need in my life.

Internship Semester: Peter Jensen London

The 5th semester of my fashiondesign studies, is a practical term to get more experience about what the 'real' fashionworld looks like.

From september to december I've been to London, helping in the studio of Peter Jensen.
I arrived right before the Fashionweek for the S/S16-Collection and helped with the preparations: sewing sequins on socks, dyeing shoes and cutting last pieces for the show.

The presentation of the 'Shirley Collection' was in 'Elms Lesters Painting Room'. Peter Jensens inspiration is always is a kind of muse, and this time he got his ideas from the style of his stylist Shirley Kurata.

I helped dressing the models, making them ready for the presentation. In the end all the models looked like clones of Shirley - an amazing production. (I especially love the prints, accessories & all the clothing made out of the towelling)

The rest of the internship I helped doing spec drawings or cutting pieces. I even helped preparing the shipping of the Resort Collection or assisted at the sample sale in december, 2015.

Now, I am so exited to see how the F/W Collection developed, and how the presentation on the London Fashion Week will be like.
The whole internship was such a great experience: Not only in the studio but also whole London. It was the first time I took a flight alone and everything was so new and exciting! I've been to London before, but only for some sightseeing. It is completely different to live there. BETTER, of course!

A fellow student, doing an internship at Vivienne Westwood invited us for the climate march demo. Standing up for human rights & nature, we even saw her, Vivienne Westwood, walking right in front of us. She's such a confident woman, really wanting to ameliorate.
Against corruption! Against fracking! For humanity!
London is so full of adventures, inspiration & colors - hope I can return soon.
